Animals coming back in the spring, farm open until November 15

DSC_0102 copyThe Farm at Prophetstown has suspended agricultural and animal operations for the remainder of the year and into the spring. This is a temporary move to be able to repair buildings, pay bills and have the best conditions possible to bring the animals back to The Farm as soon as it is feasible. The house and property are still open and available for visiting through November 15.

After polling Facebook for name suggestions, we decided to name our final calf of the year “Humphrey.” Voter Ronda Kroeschen says it means “peace loving guardian at a peaceful home.”

Thanks to all who voted – the response was overwhelming!

They mentioned our horse-drawn trolley rides, among other such things as the area’s frequent festivals, Purdue University, and three different farmers markets.

Our Belgian draft horse-drawn trolley rides are just one aspect of the unique experience at Prophetstown Farm. Come out for a visit. You’ll be glad you did!
