A 1920s Farmstead Highlighting Sustainable Agriculture, Homesteading, Heirloom Gardening, and Farm to Table Cooking
Located in West Lafayette near Battle Ground, Indiana, The Farm at Prophetstown offers a unique experience on all aspects of farm life. Programs revolve around the 1920s farms as they began their transition from animal to tractor power. The Farm is a training farm for sustainable agriculture, homesteading, gardening, canning, as well as farm-to-table cooking, sewing, and quilting. It draws on a wide range of resources such as beekeepers, master gardeners, farm professionals, and home economics experts. Admission is free with state park entry.
The Farm is a non-profit organization operating 100 acres of land leased from Prophetstown State Park. Our staff is dedicated to showing, sharing, and teaching about historic agriculture and the homesteading arts, as well as outstanding animal care and excellent customer service.

YOUR donations = memories! Generous donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations fund a large portion of our operations. Your dollars help us give our animals the best care possible, and maintain our beautiful farmstead. We wouldn’t exist without the amazing generosity of donors! The Farm receives $7 from every Farm membership sold, and meat, egg and produce sales help supplement our budget. Most programming and special events at The Farm are offered free of charge so we can be accessible to all who want to visit. Please consider a donation to The Farm! Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
It’s been a challenging year for most organizations and businesses. We are so very grateful to those who lifted us up and generously gave to The Farm in 2020.
Thank you Duke Energy! Duke Energy is always giving to help keep our community strong. Their gift supported our educational programming and has allowed us to connect with kids of all ages. In 2020, this has also included some vital virtual programming. Thank you Duke Energy!
Thank you to The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette! The Farm was able to add a beautiful new barn in 2020 for our two ewes, Thelma and Lousie and our miniature donkey, JJ. We’re grateful to CFGL for their support and helping us fill a big need here at The Farm. We’re thankful to have such a wonderful partner in the Greater Lafayette area.
Thank you US Aggregates! Always a generous donor and wonderful neighbor! US Aggregates has been wonderful in donating stone that we have used in various ways across the farmstead. We love our friends at US Aggregates!
Thank you Tipmont REMC! The Farm at Prophetstown is thrilled to have been chosen as a recipient of Tipmont’s Operation Round Up Fund! Thank you so much to Tipmont REMC for being such a generous donor in our local community and thank you to all of those who select to round up their Timpont REMC bills.
Ned Derhammer and his late wife Nola Gentry have given The Farm more than we can list….including an amazing new tractor! Not only have they given us their financial support, but also their time and friendship. We are forever grateful and blessed to have had both of them in The Farm family.
The list could go on and on of individuals who continue to support us in various ways. To each of you, you are always welcome at our Farm table. We are honored to have such a fabulous circle of amazing people who support us and help us share this special place with all who visit! There’s no place like the Midwest for giving, caring, and generous people. Thanks to you all!
